LLAMA FIBRE is non-allergenic in that it does not contain any oils or lanolin.  It is not necessary to use bulky yarn in order to obtain warmth.  Llama fibre structure is semi hollow, like a polar bear's coat, and this gives it excellent insulation qualities.

Llama fibre is very drapey and luxurious when knit or woven, in comparison to sheep's wool.   At Arbour Ridge, our breeding program has been focused, in part, in breeding llamas whose offspring produce the lowest micron count fibre (fineness and softness) possible.

We offer handspun and machine spun yarn and finished products that are heavenly to wear next to your skin.

The demand for our yarns and products has been high and is reflective of its quality - and the rarety of available top quality llama fibres in today's market place.  We are very proud of our success and we are pleased to be able to offer it to our customers.   We are a small operation, so quantities are limited.  Please telephone or email us with your enquiries for your special projects.

COLOUR... - if ordering spun yarn, please order enough of each colour initially.  We cannot guarantee a complete match otherwise.  We presently offer only natural colours.  The name of the llama whose coat you will be wearing is given with your order and that name becomes the colour ordering code.
